I got it and use it all the time, its AMAZINGLY AWESOME! I had no problems with it except installing it and the customer service was great with helping me out.
the customer service is a joke... only available via chat on the web, and reading off of scripts, there is no real tech support for this device - for real tech support for magic jack try the unofficial magic jack forum http://www.magicjacksupport.com/
the closest service that i can compare magic jack to would be skype, and it is far superior to skype (and cheaper too)
i never had a problem when i used magic jack as my only home phone line - but then again, i have a 30/5 internet connection, and had the MJ running on a dedicated computer..
people who complain about the device either have a problem with there internet (not fast enough, packet loss, or too high jitter or latency) or the CPU is being used up by other programs while they are attempting to use the phone...
aside from that, the features provided by magic jack are very limited... (no forward on busy, or call hunting feature for one)
