My ipod wont sync?? why?

I plugged it to the comp with the usb cable and it doesnt even shows that its plugged into the comp. The ipod is on and not on hold. How do I make it work??

unplug ipod and press menu and the center buttons at the same time until the apple appears




you definitely need itunes otherwise it won't work
